Headlight lense removal

Hi, i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove the headlight lenses, i've somehow managed to melt the light reflector of my fog light. I've picked up some cheap headlights but the lugs are broken so i was just going to use the bits to replace, from what i can tell the headlights are sealed including 4 staples holding them in place. Any help would be great.

The lenses are bonded on, instead of buggering around, why not buy the genuine VW repair kits for the lugs? 1K0 998 225 left and 1K0 998 226 right, about £15 each from the dealer.

I would but in my wonderful wisdom i bought a drivers side grey inner and a silver side passenger. I think they would look a bit odd if i put them on. I've read a post here http://volkswagenownersclub.com/vw/showthread.php/4349-Headlight-MOD-DIY
