I've had a problem with my locks since I've bought the car (T reg 1.6 8v). I've had all the lock barrels changed and the driver side front door lock changed too. After a slight "bump" my back door doesn't work with the central locking at all (also the electric window works only from the back doors button).

The whole car locks fine, but is a nightmare to unlock. When I turn the key, the locks (apart from the back door) open, but when I let go they shut again. I've changed the comfort ECU yesterday, and now I am really running out of ideas.

My mechanic said he tried different leads and putting in a different lock, but nothing.

Any help appreciated

Do you get this behaviour when unlocking the car using the passenger door's lock too?

Funilly enough the passenger door is quite temperamental too. Most of the time it opens just the passenger door, but sumtimes it opens just the passenger side front and back doors (not sure about the boot). I'm starting to think wether the drivers door has the right lock in it (forgot to mention I had the driver side locking mechanism changed). Is it possible that the lock barrel isn't properly fitted into the lock and the lock thinks when releasing the key, it should lock?

Sounds weird! I would get a fault code scan. When I first got my car I had a rear door module fault showing, which hasn't returned since clearing, so I guess it was a left over code from a previously fixed problem. Could be something misaligned. Have you had it back to the place where it had the new locks fitted?

Worth checking, a leaking rear washer pipe (where it goes into the motor) can cause strange locking and alarm issues too.

Sorry, I'm not too much help on this one.

I've had the throttle body cleaned recently, so I would think they would have plugged it to the computer anyway. I've had fault codes checked before and the mechanic would have told me if there was any weird ones. The problem with the back doors only started after the crash, so doubt it would be due to a leak
