Hi all.

I was working on my father-in-laws '55 plate 1.6 FSI - and saw that the MAP sensor wiring had come away from the sensor [pt no 036 906051G], which would explain the hesitant perfromance! My problem is that they've come off right at the join, so I can't see which wires go to which terminals. So can anybody tell me? It's a four wire plug with only three of the terminals used, the wires go to terminals 1, 3 & 4.

I can order a new plug, but like I say, its nack all use without the above info!

Thanks in advance in case anybody can help...

Cheers, Lee.

What is the engine code ? and what does MAP stand for, I cant find a ref in the manual for this.
Tell me and I will look it up.
If it is the manifold pressure sender then it is possibly as follows :-
pin 2 = yellow
pin 3= black/grey
pin 4= purple/black
In the same block it shows pin 1=brown/blue to earth (G42) the temperature sender
This is from the intake manifold pressure sender (G71) diagram from Elsawin engine code BLP

According to the wiring info I have for the BLF engine, the G42 Intake air temperature sender and the G71 Intake manifold pressure sender are in one module. It has 4 terminals and all 4 are wired. The colour codes are Pin 1 Brown/Blue, Pin 2 yellow, Pin 3 black/grey and Pin 4 purple/black. Pin 1 is at 0v and pin 3 is the supply voltage. Hope this helps.

I've checked on ETKA and its listed as a 'Thrust Sensor'; though elsewhere the part is listed as a 'Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor'; The former may be correct, as its not throwing the MIL; haven't got a fault code reader for '04> CAN VAG cars. May be time to invest? Definatley only three out of the four wires being used though? Terminals 1, 3 & 4 Cheers Lee.
