I have been quoted 650 quid for a TDI service with timing belt and haldec fluid. Is this right?

As much as I want to keep the dealer service history this is crazy when the belt is 30-40 and takes 2.9 hours to replace.

Any help with this?

VW dealers still offer the cam-belt for £299, but you need to ask them to get the offer..

**** me i replaced my belt last week with a genuine vw kit and it cost £65 with vat, it takes 2 hours to change it, main dealers are robbing ******** at times

maybe i should start changing them for users of this site for £100 inc parts????

£65 for a OEM kit? where did you get that from? Was it just the belt or the full tensoiners, rollers etc?

Plus.. i guess you did the water pump at the same time ?

yes mate genuine complete kit, inc vat, they had a special on, as in an extra 10% discount so i saved a massive £6 lol we get really good discount from are dealer, the local factors cant get close on the price of filters or brake parts, if anyone wants any parts i will get prices to help people save a few quid

i did do the pump aswell as a matter of course
