View Full Version : Golf 2 litre cambelt change interval
Hi there,
Done a search and couldn't track anything down but I'm a noob so please excuse me. I'm thinking of getting a Golf Cabriolet with the 2 litre (115bhp) engine from 2001. It's done 43000 miles and is just over 6 years old and I can't find any mention in the paperwork of it having had a cambelt change. Should it have had one by this mileage/age or is it due one imminently?
Thanks for your help

Hi there,Not 100% sure but I have a 2001 golf 1.8t and the cambelt should be changed around the 70k mark,If you look in the service record it should say when it needs changing,43k is nothing though i wouldnt think it should need doing for a while yet, although i usually get it done anyway when i buy a car just for the peace of mind..
