Hey,
So I just picked up my new Golf SE 1.4. I got the navigation fit in but no multi-function steering wheel. I was wondering how I access the settings (and the convenience menu) menu on the multi function indicator?? I tried holding the rocker down for a few seconds but nothing happens.
Many Thanks.

Are you saying you have the Highline Computer but not with a MFSW? If so you will find that at the end of your right hand stalk you have a rocker switch BUT under that is a small button which, I think, you have to press and hold in. This is the same button you hold briefly to select memories 1 and 2 etc.

Well if you don't have the multi-function steering there should be a switch on the under side of the wiper switch that should access the MFD menus so my handbook says.
Did you order a multi-function steering? ;)

The highline computer comes with the Navigation. I can access the memories but when I try to press and hold nothing happens. Does that car need to be on? and the DSG set to P?

Nope I didn't, Only the leather steering wheel. Thats the same my handbook says, but for some reason I cant access it.

What are VW doing having a SE spec without multifunction controls anyway?... and even worse allowing you spec options that realistically require a MFSW to work and not including it as part of the option?

I ask again of the OP, do you have that small 'OK' or 'Reset' button on the underside on the wiper stalk at the same end as the rocker switch? If so, have you read the manual and do you have the HIGHLINE computer that shows the car's pictogram etc. with doors left open warnings?

Hold the "down" button of the rocker switch on the right hand stalk for 2/3 secs then the menu should come up. The button underneath the stalk acts as "OK". I have High-Line comp, so don't know if that is key. And by Navigation, do you mean Sat Nav? 'Cos there's isn't too much you can change in that menu anyway without MFSW
