Hi all, bought a 1999 Polo 1.0 about a month ago from a dodgy back street dealer :( . Had the mk1 version quite afew years ago that ran like a dream for years!:)http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/../images/smilies/redface.gif
Not quite the same story with this one however..http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/../images/smilies/mad.gif. So far changed the water pump and timing belt, all filters, plugs, oils etc, mid and rear exhaust, brake pads and shoes, and front disks. I can see this car ending up like 'Triggers broom', (Fools'n'Horses).
Next prob on the list - knocking sound from centre / left front of car when accelerating or cruising. Noise increases with road speed. Vibration felt through pedal box when cornering slowly. Noise occurs in both forward and reverse. With the car jacked up, there seems alot of play where the driveshafts enter the gearbox, ie can spin the wheel about 1/8 of a turn before a clunk is heard from box. Is this a gearbox prob or driveshafts?
