got an intermittant non-starter issue on a 1994 coupe quattro. No spark, suspecting sensors. Would like to know where they are located and info on how to test them if possible.

It can be the case that a sensor breaks down as the engine bay heats up. Once started the engine continues to run, but a failed sensor will stop it from restarting.
Crank sensors should have a similar resistance (I'm guessing hot and cold) and not be down to earth.
Hall sender can be tested for output pulse by checking at the wiring with a led/maybe a meter?
All 3 should log a fault code if a failed state occurs
