Hi, I've just checked the car as I thought it was a bit sluggish recently...

I have a boost leak, but I can't pinpoint it. I can hear the air hissing out from around the oil/fuel filter area. It's not the massive thick pipe on the top that goes to the intercooler, it's lower than that - underneath the filters maybe?

Can anybody shed any light as to what pipe it could be and where exactly I could find it!

Thanks

(It's a remapped AVF engine by the way)

It may be the pipe out of the turbo down to the cross pipe, I have seen many of these split and the split is invisible when there is no pressure. I use the VAG pressure testing system to find faults like this, you could try having someone revving the engine up whilst you look underneath but the car would need to be in the air and properly supported on stands.

Thanks Crasher, have a home-made pressure tester - that's how I found it. I shall get it on the ramps and remove the undertray asap to see if I can pinpoint where the sound is coming from - I'll check that pipe. Any ideas on how much the pipe is (if that's the problem?)

For an up to 2004 it is part number 8E0 145 834 M and costs around £130.

Frig! I have contacts in Audi that get me discount parts, but still! Bugger!
I'm sure sticky tape will work! :D
