2.6 cab engine ecu

Hi I am looking at a chip for my 2.6 cab 2000, Would like to know how easy it is to get the ecu out I havent even lookd to see, Also any one had a chip fitted to there 2.6?

On older cars the ECU is mounted on the cabin side of the firewall on the passenger side. If you remove the glovebox, access is a lot easier. I hope I'm wrong, but I think only the early V6 (2.8) could be chipped. There were a few ECU revisions and the later ones are not easily done, at least this is the case with the 2.8, maybe worth asking the tuning houses that sponsor the site?
