Key woes

My trusty S-Line is suffering a bit at the moment. Both keys have lost their coding now. I have taken the car to the local Audi ******* this morning for reprogramming, only to be told both keys are faulty and can not be reprogrammed (is this normal?). The ******* has quoted £100 per key + reprogramming. Is there a cheaper option guys?

That sounds suspicious. Why 2 keys at same time? Reader coil fault or Immob.fault i would say to be at fault.

Sorry my original post was misleading, the first key went probably a year before the second.

simply check via vcds for a signal from the remote
delete known keys and re adapt
try another key to check the convenience control unit can see the key
Ensure both fobs have no corrosion across the battery and the battery is in good order
If the led flashes continuously then the remote is out of sync
If the led does not light up check the circuit board in the remote
