Hello.
I now have Vag-com and Elsawin. Faulty rear inner left parking sensor detected. Elsawin says you have to strip out all the rear interior trim including rear seats to access the rear bumper cover fixings.
Is there an easier way? I had thought of removing the trim that varies depending on exhaust and levering bumper cover to give access.

Any tips gratefully received.

Thanks

John.

Hi there,

I had to change the LHS outer sensor on my A4 Avant. I managed to do it without stripping the boot to bits.

I removed the plastic cover that protects the underside of the bumper (a few screws), closed my eyes and did it by 'feel'. Took a couple of attempts to understand how the sensor mount worked but dead easy to install the new sensor. (It helps if you have a third hand to push the old sensor 'in' as you press the appropriate bits)

I do have to mention i have fairly skinny arms, i'm not sure if you have large forearms whether this method would be possible...

...I hope that's useful to you.

Ta,

Thank you, I will try that but I think that the metal beam runs just behind the inner sensors. My arms are quite thin. but may be able to spring the bumper cover out a bit. New sensor £78 from dealer:zx11::zx11:
