Seat Belt Problem

I have an A4 Avant, i dropped the rear seats down yesterday, today as i've tried to lift them back the middle seat belt has locked on full tension and so i am unable to lift it. I've tried threading a wire coat hanger down to release it but to no affect :mad: I'm guessing because the seat is flat the belt release is unable to work? Any ideas would be most helpful ( especially as its being MOT'd tuesday )

Have you tried pulling the belt forward very slowly and evenly to see if you can untension it?

Is it a three point belt and the folding forward has locked it in place?

You could try tosqueeze your hand in between the top and bottom and try the release or see if you can get the hinges apart -which often you cannot as they are aren't seperatable
