Half way through doing th heater matrix, now wont start

I am stripping out the dash on my newly aquired 53 plate 130 sport estate, at nearly all stages i have checked th ecar still runs so i can park it up out of the way.
I went to start it yesterday and it fired ok but as soon as i let off the start position it shut down.
What could i have disconnected that would cause this.

I basically have the whole dash out bar the main top shell and heater vents. everything else is on the boot.

Any ideas?

The coil reader for the key must be round the key when you turn it to start the car or the immobiliser will kick in.

The reader is still fitted, the car does start but cuts out straight away.

The immo control unit is in the dah insert,have you the dash insert out?

Not sure i know what you mean by insert mate, i got everything out apart form the dash tob and heater, fuse boards are still in, steering wheel off and colum controls off, speedo cluster out.

Kenny, funny enough i was just thinking that. Will connect it back up tomorrow and see if i can move the car enough to get the dash out.

If the cluster is disconnected, as said, it will be that.
The symptom is starts for a second and stops.

Heater matrix is all done now and working like a treat :D

Just got to get rid of the airbag light now........
