Hi,

Sorry for the noddy question, but I am just having to replace the radiator on the missus 2000 1.8 A3. Taken the hoses, fan shroud etc off. Thing is I cant actually see how to get the radiator off. At each corner they go into some kind of ruber housing unit but I cannot see any bolt or release mechanism for these to actually get it off! Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
ben

Hi Ben,

Did you ever get a relolution to this as I'm having the same problem and it's doing my head in.

Regards,

Willie

Thanks Crasher,

You're spot on, the bumper has to come off (4 black pop rivets along the top, 2 screws from below and 3 screws each side, after you've taken 5 screws out of the under wheelarch protective plastic cowling for access. All to access 4 screws that hold the radiator secure. No wonder Audi wanted £400 for the job.

In short a proper B. of a job.

Willie

You have to remove the front bumper and lift the front panel forwards to give you enough room to drop the radiator out from below.

Hi,

I managed to bodge it with radweld which still seems to be holding, but yeah - need to take the fromt bumper off. What a design!
