So I have one of those less-than-perfect PD140 BKP engines in my 2006 Passat, which seems to have unreliable injectors. The first started to go faulty with only 25k miles on the clock.

I managed to get one replaced FOC after four visits to the dealer, who tried various things each time, inlcuding checking that whether he'd replaced the injector the previous visit....

The morning after replacement the yellow engine exhaust warning light came on. My old copy of VAG-COM showed code 1650. A few days later it added code 5522 to the log.

The car is going back to my dealer on Friday, but I wondered what this code means and whether this could be a consequence of their work replacing the injector?

Thanks!

They don't look like vag-com codes.

Dealer traced two faults and fixed the main one.

Boost pressure signal problem. Sensor to ECU wiring harness replaced. Not cheap. New hardness is modified i.e. yet another know fault with this car.

That leaves a possible glow plug failure, or they didn't put the loom in properly when they replaced the injector.

With 3 safety recalls as well, I'd not recommend a BKP Passat.
