hi all,
seems like a common problem but maybe someone can shed some light on this. 2001 5 door golf
The passenger side front window dropped when driving along (my partner's car so me in the doghouse! :D). Got home and managed to get the door card off but couldn't get the inner metal plate off fully (have now read how it's supposed to be done!) As time was tight I just managed to get the window back up and wedged in place and put the door card etc back in place. Locked the car and rushed off.
Now have a bit of time to sort the window clips etc but the door has locked shut and won't open- have tried the various tips but no joy!
Now when I put the door card back on I left the window motor and the switch disconnected thinking it would save me time. Could this be the cause of the lock now not operating? If so then I can maybe get the door card off enough to re-connect the loom and then hopefully operate the lock as normal.
Rather than thrashing about in the dark (like I usually do) I was wondering if anyone had the same or similar problem or has any other ideas?
many thanks guys
jeff
