Hello there
I am new to the forum but not to VW group cars, having just said goodbye to my dearly loved Leon Cupra.
My next purchase will be the above car, an Audi A4 Avant Quattro Sport. I have been doing some research but cannot find the answers i am looking for.
Essentially i am trying to find out the difference between the 163 engine and the 180 engine.
I realise that they are both 2.5 TDi, but i am wondering if the difference is just the mapping, as VW group have done this in the past, or if there are more physical differences between the two.
I have found out that the 180 engine quite successfully remaps to about 220bhp and this is on the cards when i get one.
I suppose i am wondering really, as there are more 163 engines out there than 180 ones. But if they are mechanically the same and they reach the same point when re-mappped, then i don't need to worry.
Thanks
Matt
