i checked for wather on the passenger side,it was sooaking,i am still in the proces of drying it,i unblocked the draines under the battery,i removed the comfort module(wich did n t look wery wet) i lefted to in the house for a few days the tryed again but still the same,i checked all the fusees but they are fine so symptomes:
-remote central looking not working(works when i close it froom the door but dose not look the rear doors)
-windows and interior lights not working when the car is on the move
-the alarm light is not flashing(but is flashing with the ccm disconected)
-when driver door is open it shows the pasenger door open on the computer

sory for the bad speling,i hope you can understand what i am trying to say(englysh isn t my first languge)
any help would be appriciated many thanks

Open the CCU and you will see if it has been damaged, and remove the insulation on the wiring harnes to the CCU,as far as the door sill, there are 3 or 4 soldered joints which corrode causing various malfunctions

laur
01-03-2010, 07:44 PM
thanks, will have a look at the wiring,i opened the box but it looks fine

laur
02-03-2010, 03:01 PM
so had a look at the wiring today and it s a mess down there, now the problem i have is i don t how to solder the wieres back together where gose where, dose anybody have a picture of how they were suposed to be???

kenney
02-03-2010, 07:02 PM
http://www.headfuzz.co.uk/?q=vw_ccm this might not be much good to you, anyway you should not have much trouble tracing the wires as you will be looking for wires with the same colour and thickness.Depending on how badly the wires are corroded, you might be better off paying the scrap yard a visit

laur
02-03-2010, 07:56 PM
Sorry I didn't metion this in my previous reply, corosion is not the problem, someone before me has probaly looked ar the problem and soldered the wires wrong example:there were 4 blue wieres soldered together, I split dose up and solder them 2 by 2 and my windows started working fine and the ccm stoped clicking and the interior lights sopted flashing, the problem is ther s about 5 or 6 connections like that(4 or more wieres soldered togheder)and I think is not suposed to be like that, that's why I would need a picture or a diagram or something,if anybody has that would be great, many thanks

can you do i please, will have a go, better then nothing

kenney
03-03-2010, 09:37 PM
The diagram changes in 2003 so i need the year of the vehicle and engine code and your e-mail address

laur
03-03-2010, 09:41 PM
The car is a y reg 2001 salon,2.0 engine, where can I find the engine code??My email is laur_8_8@yahoo.co.uk

kenney

These diagrams are not the easiest to understand, one of the reasons being, where the wiring joins, the diagram just states e.g internal connection in dash panel wiring harness,it does not tell you where the actual joint is, anyhow diagram posted good luck

laur
03-03-2010, 10:13 PM
I see what you mean about not beeaing easy to folow,I will have a look with an electrician friend, anyway thanks for the help, will update in the progress, many thanks

laur
08-03-2010, 05:15 PM
hi again,so checked all the connections with the diagram and they seem to be fine,i had the car on a tester today and it came up with this:
01330 - Central Control Module for Central Convenience (J393)
52-10 - Supply Voltage Too High - Intermittent
and something with no comunication to the doors
anybody have any ideas??
many thans in advance

kenney
08-03-2010, 05:29 PM
It means as it says the CCU has no communication with the doors there is either a fault with the can bus wires or there is no power to the door units,So the first you need to do is remove the door trim and check the power to the door control units with the help of the wiring diagram you have
52-10 - Supply Voltage Too High - Intermittent Have you had a battery charger on the vehicle

laur
08-03-2010, 05:55 PM
right,,the front doors i am sure are working because i can look and unlook them with the button in the car,i think it s the rear doors so will ceheck that,,and i only had the car for about 2 weeks so i don t know if its been on a battery caharger,,oo and this may sound sily, but what is a can bus wire???

kenney
08-03-2010, 07:49 PM
CAN (also referred to as CANbus ) is a network used in many every-day products consisting of multiple microcontrollers that need to communicate with each other. There are 2 wires can-high and can-low which run from each of the door control units to the CCU and transmit signals to one another,The can comfort system will work if one wire is damaged, but will not work if both wires are damaged.Look at the wiring diagram they are marked bus H and bus L (end of lesson :D)

laur
11-03-2010, 05:06 PM
hi again so took out the door panels today and evrything seems fine,,i noticed somebody has checked this before me,and ther is no power to the rearr doors, not even the lights in the doors work, now my quetion is:where the power should come from the ccm or somewhere else??
oo and when i open my driver door the dis shows the pasenger door open and the other way round,i am thinking am mixtup connection somewhere,,but where???

kenney
11-03-2010, 05:19 PM
Check the part numbers of the front door control units and tell us what they are.The wiring diagram i posted you tells where the units receive the power from

laur
11-03-2010, 05:32 PM
so the power should come from ccm,hmm strange,so i could have a faulty ccm,,
sorry but may i ask why you need the part no from the front door control units???just curios, any way will post them tomorow as i have to remove the door cards

kenney
11-03-2010, 05:47 PM
if you look at the diagram all the door units are connected ( B207) - Connection (convenience), in interior wiring harness.Look at the rear left control unit j388 follow the red on green wire and you will see it joins into the C line which is the power supply which ends at the CCU,which means if you have power to front doors then the CCU is ok,Both back doors receive also power from fuse 23 in fuse box.Need the part number to make sure the units are in the correct doors, just the one side will do

laur
11-03-2010, 06:42 PM
so i went checked the fuse wich is fine i also removed the door panel on the drivers side and took a picture:
http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/8267/img0019n.jpg
???

kenney
11-03-2010, 06:49 PM
That is the correct unit for that door.Okay taking one step at a time, concentrate on the rear left door.Check contacts 3 and 4 on the 20-pin connector, black, door, B pillar, left for power

laur
11-03-2010, 07:14 PM
ok will do that tomorow,on a difrent note my electric windows work fine whe the car is stationary when i pull away and try to open them is like they have a mind of ther on they go up and down in small steps same with the interior lights wich flash if i put them on and ther was a cliking sound from the ccm,but no when i was checking the fuses i removed fuse 38 wich was fine but windows are workin fine all the time, but now i don t have interior lights wich i dont mind realy,at lest i can open the windwo whenever, and no more cliking from the ccm,,i know i said this earlyer"""there were 4 blue wieres soldered together, I split dose up and solder them 2 by 2 and my windows started working fine and the ccm stoped clicking and the interior lights sopted flashing""but the wires i had split for the reversing lights and they were suposed to be all togheder any way i tryed splitig them up again but this time it made no difrence,so probaly i moved something the first time i did it and they worked,,sorry about the long post,,but starting to get a bit confused..any idea about the windows and lights??

kenney
11-03-2010, 08:24 PM
The windows although operated through each of the control units via canbus are powered over other fuses, Fuse 38 is for the alarm.Find out if you have power on the contact i mentioned and we can take it from there

laur
12-03-2010, 04:23 PM
right so i cheked contact 3and 4 wich is white and a black wire and ther is no power in both of them,,
ps.just to mention i don t have electric windows on the rear

kenney
12-03-2010, 04:39 PM
That is not the correct colour of the wiring, contact 3 is a red on yellow wire,do you mean you do not have electric windows,or you have them but they do not work

laur
12-03-2010, 04:47 PM
i mean i have manual windows on the rear, and the wire goes in to the conector white or black i am not sure exactly and goes out red on yellow,i also stript the red on yellow wire a littel bit with a circuit tester and checked after the conector, and no power
??

kenney
12-03-2010, 04:56 PM
Well that confuses the issue, the wire does not change colours, however assuming the black or white wire is in the correct position,it receives power from fuse 22,so check if you have power on fuse 22

laur
12-03-2010, 05:58 PM
sorry i thynk i got confused,i went and checked again and the black connector dosen t even have a red on yellow wire,so i checked to only red on yellow wire(actualy ther are 2) i saw wich is in an orange connector and it has power and also fuse 22 has power as well her are some pics of the connectors:
http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/5976/img0021cw.jpg
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/5466/img0022ff.jpg

???

kenney
12-03-2010, 06:26 PM
Those pics are not from the B pillar,do you know what the B pillar is?

laur
12-03-2010, 06:28 PM
this is not the one??
sorry wich one is it

kenney
12-03-2010, 06:42 PM
The B pillar is the part which the back door is fitted to

laur
12-03-2010, 06:54 PM
ok will have look ar it tomorow
i look a bit silly now, anyaway thanks for beeing so patient with me

laur
13-03-2010, 01:08 PM
right so i went to chek the connector but i couldn t acutualy openit but i checked the red on yellow wires(2 of them one is fin and one thiker) before they go into the conector and the thik one had power(low power actualy my lamp bearly lid up)but the other one nothing
???

kenney
13-03-2010, 02:14 PM
On contact 3 you should have 12 volts, can you take a pic so that i know we are talking about the same item

???

kenney
13-03-2010, 03:21 PM
I do not see the canbus wires in the pics, before we go any further,do you have a comfort control unit a large black plastic box under the passenger footwell????????

laur
13-03-2010, 03:32 PM
yes i do

laur
13-03-2010, 03:34 PM
ps i think i am not sure i bought his car:

kenney
13-03-2010, 03:58 PM
afraid i'am at a loss here mate, the wiring does not correspond with the diagram,if you will remove the door trim and take a pic of the wiring to the door control unit,it might shed some light on the problem

laur
13-03-2010, 04:02 PM
Wich door,the rear one??

kenney
13-03-2010, 04:58 PM
yes,rear left

i think the penny has dropped, there are no control units for the rear doors, that is why i did not see the canbus wires, since you had a fault code no communication with the rear doors,i think the fault is with the coding of the CCU,can you obtain the code?

laur
13-03-2010, 09:43 PM
What code do you mean??the fault code??I could do that on Monday, about coding, any sugestions in the Norfolk area???

kenney
13-03-2010, 10:38 PM
not the fault code but the CCU code

laur

How can I get it?if I go to my local garage could they getit for me with their diagnostic machine??
Could you give me an example of a code??many thanks

kenney
13-03-2010, 11:31 PM
Central Locking (4 doors / 2-power windows):
00066 = Selective Locking
00067 = Unlocking of all doors

laur
13-03-2010, 11:34 PM
Ok,but still how can I getit??

kenney
13-03-2010, 11:40 PM
You need to have diagnostic equipment,

laur
13-03-2010, 11:55 PM
Ok will buy a vagcom
and see how I get on many thanks

kenney
14-03-2010, 12:49 AM
standard coding is 00000 so your unit should have the code 00067

laur
16-03-2010, 06:21 PM

i just now realised that the part no on the box is diffrent from the part no that vag vom shows
:ccu box part no:8E0 959 433 AC
vag com part no:8E0 959 433 K
that seems very strange to me

kenney
16-03-2010, 06:47 PM
There are various control units for this model all depends on the VIN and the equipment the vehicle has. However the unit you have in the vehicle now has the basic software coding 00000,you can try and code the unit for RHD,central locking with 2 electric windows,so try the code 00195

laur
16-03-2010, 07:18 PM
it dosen t work it just says:
vag number:kom for tge rat
component t01 0313
and nothing else softwre code remains 00000.
and i ment to say that i have this ccu in my car:
http://img35.imageshack.us/i/img0030tvl.jpg/
but the vag com tells me i have this:Control Module Part Number: 8E0 959 433 K
i thing the previos owner changed but keept the original box
any more ideas??

kenney
16-03-2010, 07:39 PM
I don't work with vagcom so i have no experience with it,perhaps someone else can answer the question, can the control unit be coded with the software version 409.1-US.????????

laur
16-03-2010, 07:43 PM
i think so i have the option recode soo, but i think i have the wrong unit in the car

kenney
16-03-2010, 08:38 PM
If you think so then try 00067,what is the VIN?

laur
16-03-2010, 09:04 PM
vin is:
wauzzz8ez1A036046
will try the code tonight cheers

laur
16-03-2010, 10:32 PM
just tryed that code, still the same,i think i am going to try a second hand ccu

kenney
16-03-2010, 10:40 PM
Your problem is to find the correct unit for your vehicle

laur
16-03-2010, 10:43 PM
i want to think that this is the correct one:8E0 959 433 AC,as i have the other one on now but not 100%,is ther any way of finding out for sure??

kenney
16-03-2010, 10:49 PM
You will need to go to an Audi dealer or some one that has Etka to establish the correct unit

laur
16-03-2010, 10:51 PM
ok,will do that and keep you updated
many thanks

laur
25-03-2010, 04:58 PM
