Hi,

I have an Audi A4 B6 Sport 2004.

The car doesent have a centre armrest, instead it just has the handbrake and centre compartment (I dont know the proper name).

I want to buy a centre armrest and add it to the car. Is it possible to add a new armrest or do I need to buy all the centre plastics specifically for a centre armrest (handbrake cover, compartments etc)??

Any help appreciated.

Danny

Do a search, there is lots of guides and info on this site. You can get the arm rest. Easy enough to fit. You need to cut the plastic behind handbreak. Well worth fitting but expensive to buy off Audi. Try a few breakers yards.

There really easy to do and take about 30 mins to fit, try and buy a new geniune one if you can as you need a template to cut a hole to mount it, a few dealers sell on ebay for about £160 but if you keep a look out you can get 1 cheaper on there, mine was about £130 brand new geniune still in box :beerchug:

I was looking for a glovebox from the breakers yard for at least 6 months very hard to get hold of as there popular. And there was no way i was going to pay £160 for a piece of plastic and a cushion from Audi so i bought this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-A4-B6-11-00-2004-Saloon-CENTER-ARMREST_W0QQitemZ190376972600QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK _CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2c535a113 8 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-A4-B6-11-00-2004-Saloon-CENTER-ARMREST_W0QQitemZ190376972600QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK _CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2c535a113 8)

Its perfect and look great, like it came with the car, simple fit with 4 screws into centre console.

just an alternative to consider

Mr Meeks, I really like the look of that centre console you posted :beerchug:
Can you give a few more details about how it's fitted? Do you need to remove any trim or cut any holes? Where do the four screws go? Is it secure once done or does it need tightening occasionally.

Just a bit wary of cutting the trim, don't trust myself with power tools :D

On the other hand though, would like something that complements the trim and fits well without looking like an obvious add on :o

The template would have been useful for me but I can't raise a PM yet.
My wife has a 2000 Passat with an arm rest but she she doesn't like it. I was wondering if I could switch it to my 2002 A4?

I was quite lucky into getting a centre console with the factory armrest cutout. My original as not worth modifying as it was horrible. I found one on eBay, he wanted £40, I offered £35 and he took it, easier imo than with templates, especially if it went wrong and got an aftermarket arm rest(cheap at £35 delivered, eBay again). Not Audi quality, but not bad either.
