i have a audi A4 2.0tfsi s line special edition with the sat nav plus

it has the 2x sd card reader under the screen ,and i would like to fill this with sounds :-)

but reading other forums people are saying max 4gb in each slot and only some brands work ? and also it has to be SD not SDHC ?

can someone give me some pointers on what brand to buy and size ect ect and maybe a link to where they bought theres from :-)

2x 4gigs would be good as thats alot of sounds :-)

Trapster

SDHC will not work and with a file limit of 512 there is little point in buying 4gb cards. 4gb non hc cards do exist - try searching Transcend on Amazon - but I'm not sure the extra capacity is worth it unless you plan on filling the card with long tracks 10mins long each.

I'd go for normal 2gb sd cards. You can pick them up in numerous places for a few pounds each. Don't bother too much about getting fast cards unless you intend to use them on your camera too. Normal speed cards work perfectly well.

I'd try 7dayshop.com first - they're normally among the cheapest place to get them.

Exactly.
You can have folders within folders no problem but still limited to 512 files per card unfortunately.

Where are you?
Might be worth meeting up with an existing member so you can see it in action.

I'm near Glasgow if it's any good

hi thanks for the offer but i am in bristol ;-) bit far to go

but have tried a 32meg card and put 3 tracks on there and worked first time no problem.
so i have on order 2x 2 gig cards from play

so i guess i can get 1024 songs on the 2 cards

i think that should be enuf ;-)

thanks for all the input guys

i have used 2 x 2gb standstand SD cards NOT SD and both of these work fine. At 1st i thought OMG 2gb i have a MP3 player for running and thats 16gb lol. But i can cram loads and loads of songs and leave them in the folders and the player sees them! I have 2 cards so if i take one in the house and forget i always have the other one in!
Its a pain running the sat nax from Disc tho!! :(

Also I had a problem with one of my cards and it worked fine on PC and Blackberry but not in the car. Had to re format it as FAT32 not FAT in the end for it to work.

I have just got a car with the sat nav plus system with the 2 sd cards. Can some one tell me in very simple terms how I actually put music on to an sd card?? I really have no idea.

I am hoping I can put a certain amount of music on these 2 cards and leave them in the car for when I have not got an I pod in there, is this right?

Format the card to FAT32, drag and drop music files onto card

Steve

you need to rip your cd onto your computer as an mp3 file. I use CDex which is a free program and quite good although I suspect media player will also rip cds to mp3s.

when you have the mp3 drag that file onto the sd card and pop it into the car for hours and hours of uninterrupted music.......fantastic!!

Hi there! As said above windows media player will rip in mp3 format. Go to rip settings and then format and select mp3 as default. Also make sure that your windows media player is up to date. I am using version 11 with no problems. :D
