Clicking noise from glove box?

Hi, I have 98 passat tdi with 140k

There seems to be a clicking sound almost like a clock ticking BUT only happening in colder weather?

Hi there, clicking from glove box you say ? well on my mk4 golf gti I had a similar issue. Does your car have climatronic ? (digital air con) If so you could try pressing the recirc button, if you notice the pitch of the ticking change then you could have the same problem. It will be the recirculation motor, a tiny box located up above the fan blower & an absolute nightmare to get to, as on the golf space around it is very tight ?
Try looking uo threads on mk4 golfs there may be something there to help ?
