passat 2.0 sport 2002 wet footwell comfort module destroyed

have a passat which was hard to start and run poor, passenger footwell was soaked, investigated to find very wet and corroded ccm, removed it dried it, now the car wont run, replaced with a new one still wont run any ideas thanks.

You need a fault code read. The CCM shouldn't have anything to do with the car starting.

According to the Haynes Manual a new CCM needs to be initialised by a VW dealer or someone with the correct test equipment. Sounds very likely to me - Passat and or other similar VAG car owners keep the company afloat financially whilst the cars disappear into a sea of water!!!!

not getting much from vag com scan, crank sensor fault probably due to over cranking, have changed it anyway, but have noticed only getting a spark on 2 cylinders and its weak??
