What's the best way to go about this?? I've got it in already, but I want to re-do it as a more permanent job. If I drop the glove box out, will I have access to the cable drops?? I want to route the cables the best way possible, as I've blown a fuse already I think (central locking isn't working via key-fob).
Also, should I be fixing the cage to the dash? Or is a push-fit ok??
Finally, I've got a mic for bluetooth phone calls, where's the best place to mount this??
Thanks in advance..
:)

Car? Year? Model? What parts do you have? What radio are you trying to fit? etc etc
Details help mate, as does posting in the right part of the forum!

VW Golf TDi 130, Mark 4 (53). JVC AVX820 headunit.
Any help/advice/tips appreciated. I'm half way through the installation, but working it out as I go along, so any help will be appreciated. Nice one.

Where is the correct place to post this then? I posted this in the 'in car entertainment' section of the forum. If this is the wrong place, then I apologise, this forum is so big you need a phd to find the right forum!!
No need to be pedantic..

Nope, you're in the correct place. :D However, in order to help you, people need to know some details, otherwise we're shooting in the dark so to speak.
Due to the size of the forum, it can be a little daunting to start with, however here's (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=79) a good place to start.
HTH :D
Hi Stuart,
The closest I can come to this is a link to retro-fitting RNS-e into an Audi A3, which involves removing a single-din radio and replacing with a double-din cage for the nav unit. I know it's not a Golf, but if you're lucky the overall approach may be the same.
The link is here (http://audiforum.us/installations/7704-audi-a3-8p-rns-e-retrofit-guide.html) - hope it's of some use.
Good luck!!
MF.
