What's the right car battery?

I have a 99 Passat 1.8 20V and the Haynes doesn't help me identify what amp-hour or model of battery I need. My batter is knackered and I don't want to spend £70 on a powerful one if all I need is a £40 one - basically.

Any ideas how I find out?
