Do you recognise this problem?
I have an 06 reg Passat 2.0 TDi 140PS SE diesel Estate that I bought at 11k miles which has been generally OK.
It has now reached 56k . ( I have issues using the the park brake on hill starts but that is a story for a different time and forum line!)
When I first received the car there was a feature available to auto shut all the windows. In summer ( remember those?) it was usefull.
I found that, over night, the vehicle had lowered the windows on two occasions with no input from me at all! Not good from a security viewpoint!.
After the second time and KNEW it was not my error, I returned it to the dealer who disabled the facility to auto shut the windows.
This was explained to me as a temporary fix while VW developed a software download to overcome the inadvertant window lowering issue.
This has not happened and now the car is out of warranty. My question is has anyone else found this issue? It can't be just my car.?
Also, if you have the feature enabled on your vehicle, be aware of the risk to "overnight window lowering syndrome". It might save you loosing your contents!
As I understand it, the issue is the effect of reducing temperature overnight affects the density/volume of air inside the car and changes the alarm volumetric sensor.
