still losing water and heat passat 1.9 tdi 1998

i am still filling my water tank up after a journey my heating keeps coming on for a few minutes then switching off passat 1.9 tdi 1998 any ideas

Not an expert but from general experience if you cannot find a leak in the system (under the car or wet carpets) then check oil dipstick - water and filler cap - mayo, as you may have a headgasket going

i have checked the oil cap theres no white stuff under the cap wet carpets inside the car??

not a 100% on VWs but heater matrix can leak usually inside and give wet carpets, along with antifreeze smell. Does it run hotter than normal?

ner not really heat seems normal when it comes along really dont know wat to do next

Have you got climate control? If so blow the left hand sensor out with an air hose to clean - it can cause intermitant heater operation.

Visually inspect the heater matrix for leaks.

I still say radiator lol.

what the raidator is leaking i will have a good look soon as this weather clears up it dont have climate control and i will check it
