Dear all,

I've just bought a 1994 Audi Coupe, 2 litre 16v (L reg). I'm in search now of a Haynes Manual that covers this car.

Can anyone guide me to where I can get one. Have tried the normal suspects (on line auction site beginning with E) and have drawn a blank.

My email andy.farmer3@btinternet.com

this forum is always a good starting place. the engine is basically a golf 16v lump, so a manual for that will help. all info on the K E jetronic injection system can be found on the net. i believe you can get a haynes for the earlier b3 audi that will cover the main mechanicals, suspension etc. other than that its mainly guess work, and here.all in all they are a fabulous car and quite easy to maintain. i happen to have exactly the same car as you.

Thanks zollaf

Mine is a 1994 L reg, picking it up tomorrow. 4 previous owners, full Audi history, 105k miles. Between the current MOT and the last, 3 miles were covered !!!

Pics available if interested ;)

sounds nice. better put some piccies up for all to see. obviously shes getting on in years so you will have a few problems at some stage, but being fully galvanised it will never rust. IMHO, these coupes are very underratted and the 16v engines are very strong. they are very easy cars to work on though and most parts can be found cheaply. wishbone bushes and subframe bushes are quite prone to wearing out and mine was no exception, but sorted with solid mounts for the subframe and powerflex wishbone bushes- stiffens the front end up a treat.
in fact, i would go so far as to say these are amongst the best cars ever built anywhere in the world. thats why i have one

ive got osram nightbreakers in mine. next job is to put relays behind the lights, so the lightswitch operates the relay and theres not so much voltage drop. or you could fork out a big wedge and get the s2 ellipsoid headlights, to give you a really menacing look.

I' ve heard of HID kits being retrofitted with good results. I agree elipsoidals look the part, but not sure they give good light. My passats have them and I not too impressed to be honest..
The ACE engine is covered by the 100/earlyA6 Haynes manual and as stated the manual for the pre facelift coupe covers everything else quite well. Not much changed besides the grille, engines and trim

Can anyone also shed some light on where the air filter is located on the 1994 model Coupe ? Maybe someone could post a picture to help me locate it. Forgive me if I seem vague......

its the black box behind the drivers headlight, with the fuel injection unit sat on top, but there are clips around the side to undo it. a bit tricky to change, but if i remember rightly, removing the air pipe that goes from it to the manifold makes the job easier.

Thanks zollaf

Filter changed and was fairly straight forward.

Now, need to look at changing the steel exhaust and replace it with a standard one. The steel one is way too noisey :1zhelp:

Can I pick up a standard exhaust cheaply do you think ??
