Passenger side electric window switch

I have noticed this evening that my passenger side electric window switch does not illuminate. Is this normal? Also there is no picture of a window on the switch. Has it been replaced with a cheaper alternative?. Or have VW tried to cut costs?

Its the picture of the window on the button that illuminates.

The original switch has a built in bulb that you can't replace. You will need a new switch.

That is correct. Have had the car a few weeks now and noticed it the other night. Rear electric windows illuminate etc... But passengers side is a blank.
