I've just bought a 2006 A4 TDi Avant 115. Very happy with the car overall. Over the past few days I've had a squeaking noise in the front right wheel which is noticeable while doing about 50kph or lower. It dissipates when the brake is pressed.

Funny thing is that it only happens to sound off in the evening! One day there was even a very slight burning smell and the hub was warmer than the other 3. I've had an audi mechanic check it out ie brakes, callipers, bushings etc. but to no avail. Thought a stone (or something) might have lodged itself in there somewhere. Now the car was fine today but who's to say it wont occur again.

Q .Any ideas as to what it might be?

Any input greatly appreciated.

Clean and lube the caliper slider pins, clean and lube the back of the pads, if the squeak persists you could have a sticky caliper
