CAR STOLEN – My Black B7 S4 was stolen this morning at approx 0715hrs. VRN – SE04GER
Stolen from Market Drayton heading towards Birmingham area.
Police were on it within 20 mins, and with 4 police cars chasing it, they couldn’t keep up. A helicopter was dispatched but didn’t get there in time and the car was lost. Last seen in the Sherrifhales area.
They have an idea of who is doing it – they are targeting high performance Audi’s - S4’s, RS4’s RS6’s.
Please keep an eye out and report directly to police in first instance.
Many thanks guys

Sorry to hear that mate.
A guy on the A/S5 owner's club forums for his '5 nicked in the same way too very recently.
Police said it was stolen to order and will most likely end up abroad.

Thing is I bought a VR6 GOLF in 1995 it had "Tracker" fitted as standard. WHY THE HECK! Is your car not fitted with a similar system:confused:

Believe me I AM NOT UNSYMPATHETIC!! The fact IS VW a part of the Volkwagen Audi Group in 1995 realised that there was a problem in the UK with powerful stealable cars!! Why would they not support the Tracker System in 2009/10 when it actually works!!
Plus your cars are being stolen to order by eastern European concerns, Why? They are VERY high Spec they strip them LHD/RHD not important and they repair the cars that the NORMAL European community cannot afford to repair because of the high manpower costs.
Or do you not realise that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the sympathy!! Ref tracker, a number of reasons:
1. I have never had a car stolen and with the cost of a tracker plus membership I wasnt prepared to pay that.
2. I generally dont keep cars too long as I get bored.
3. I wouldnt really want a car back once it has been in the hands of a thief!

Sorry Not Picking on You!! But why would an orginisation in 1995 like VW (which is porsche.audi, seat skoda etc etc) not keep up their support for people who purchsae high value cars by giving free tracker!

Micalee.....sorry to hear about your s4. Have you had any update fromthe police yet? You are correct in your assertion about organised teams targetting high value cars. I am an officer in BIrmingham and our list of outstanding stolen vehicles is peppered with fast Audi models. To those of you who own these cars please take every opportunity to keep them secure. No doubt you all realise that with the advent of increasingly sophisticated security systems, cars can seldom be stolen without the keys. Unfortunatelythis has resulted in some instances of ownersbeing assaulted for the keys often while in their own home. Keeping your car somewhere other than directly outside your address may frustrate these W@@@@@S somewhat.
Okay
all the best

I saw that article.
I got pulled over by the police a few weeks back as I was driving near Bexley. They pulled me over as it was 3am and did a vehicle check on the car and myself. They said Audi's, BMW, etc are more of a catch to nick now days. Hence why they pulled me as they wanted to know 'why the Audi was heading for the M25/Kent border?' So they pulled me over in the hope I was a potential car jacker. They said most people leave their keys on show and this gives them an opportunity to steel the car in seconds. Especially if its worth £30k+. They would rather nick my A3 than the T.V, etc as its much quicker to steel plus it carries a price tag. He said they tend to work in gangs and steel for order. Either shipment abroad or involved in crime in the UK where a high performance car is needed. They also love cars with 'runflats'. Because the car is still drivable when the police stinger is used. Then a car flawed past us, with only one rear light working with a group of guys inside. So they thanked me for my time and went after that. A lot of people would have been p***ed off with being pulled over, but happy the police were doing their job. The guys were firm with me when they first pulled me over. But turned out really pleasant to talk to, realising I was the owner of the car. It did come as of a shock when they were in an unmarked car wearing civilian clothing! :aargh4:

Car has now been recovered and was involved (alledgedly) in a number of high cash robberies.
Totally smashed up - the police told me it was stolen to order also but i this case, it clearly wasnt.
Insurance have paid out now.

Insurance payouts invariably do not cover the "ACTUAL COSTS INVOLVED" and therefore I sympathise with your dilema: :aargh4:
When it comes to the next "High Perfomace Purchase" What about developing an in car security device that is lodged under the drivers seat.
We could perhaps ? call it the "BEE STING" (NO WAIT A MINUTE!! The "HORNET STING"!!), it would sit passively under the drivers seat waiting (for the immobilizer system to be activated) when triggered it would send a signal to the "hornet sting" that would activate a Non-Passive charge that shoots a huge spike with barbs on it through the seat bottom that interacts with the driver nether regions!!?!!:approve:.
Could also be interesting if you get your motor confiscated by the old bill;).
