Hi Guys!

Does anyone know how to remove the rear shelf on a b5.5? Theres a load of dead bugs trapped between the rear window and the long brake light and I'd like to open it it and vacum them outta there

Thanks Guys!

Yes i did the same to mine last month, was a bugger to work out as the haynes manual has nothing on this.
Firstly lower the rear seats into a flat position
Unplug the high level brake light
get onto the back seats of te car, as you look at the parcel shelf you will notice the side nearest you has a downward facing lip on it, there a 3 pop rivvets on this, spaced evenly apart. The best way to un pop these are with a trim removal tool. I used a screwdriver a broke one side of one of the clips.
To see these you will need to bend the parcelshelf upwards slightly, it's tight and fiddly.
Once youv'e popped all three out, you'll need to unclip the 3 clips on the underside of the shelf and pull in towards you.........what an effort
Fitting is reversal
Hope you can make sense of this.
