Just had 2 new tyres on my 07 Passat Sport Tdi 170 , the fronts have worn the inside shoulders and the centre section away, the outside and inner centre section is still good, tracking checks are ok.
Could this be a result of incorrect camber settings, has anyone else had the same problem?.

I'm not sure how adjustable the camber is on the front.
Have they tyres always been fitted to the front, not moved from the rear?
There is a well documented issue with rear tyre wear on the inner edges.

My experience is the fronts tend to wear most in the tread centres while both edges wear at a similar rate. Same experience with three different premium brands. Reducing pressures a little evens out wear across the tread to some degree but not entirely.

Tyres have only been on the front, It's always been a bu**er if you cross over a white line as you have to fight the steering, anyway it's going to have a full geometry check Thursday.
The rear tyre issue is common to most cars, my 02 Mondeo :drive: did it, and my work Micra  wears the rears faster than the fronts if you don't change them over on the rims.
I have exact the same problem on my 06 plate 73k - 140bhp both fronts inner side worn.
Whats your milage?

I had to have two new fronts on mine - after 10k! I put it down to my hitting the traffic calming the French put on their motorways. :(
I wondered afterwards whether it had left the factory badly aligned, but how could I prove it?

Car has 32k on the clock, front tyres have done @12k.
Rear wheel alignment is a recurring issue with Passats so why not also front wheel? I don't know enough about how these things are built to comment with certainty.
Give me my Land Rover any day - at least you could replace all the bushes for a few quid and everything was perfect.

Probably something to do with VW's quality control, or lack of it.
Fings ain't wot they used to be. :(
I have just had a similar problem with my '06 2.0l TDI Sport. The OSF tyre has worn excessively on the centre / inner edge after12months wear (10k miles). I took it to the local tyre centre this afternoon for a tracking check. They found that the OSF "toe-out" was way out of spec, as was the NSF, but to a lesser extent. The rear tracking was also slightly out, but as I have had no wear issues with the rear tyres I have left them alone. It cost me £25 to have the fronts adjusted, plus I need a new tyre for the OSF.
Also I have found that excessive centre wear occurs if the tyres are pumped up to the vW recommended pressure. I now have htem a few psi less than recommended.
