Audi B7 Chassis Code

Hi all,

Friday I part ex'd my Leon Cupra for a 57 plate A4 Avant S Line. I just went to check out the Chassis number so I could plug my VAG COM, then did some checking on the Web.

My chassis number is 8E2, I undertand that the 8E was used on the B6 and B7, but I read some where that the "2" part is B6 specific.

Is 8E2 a vaild code for a 57 plate A4 Avant?

. . . . OK so I've just been doing a bit more searching and the conclusion is I don't think the "2" after the "8E"is that important. Just a check digit.

Anyway really like the A4, mine is the 170ps diesel in dark grey with black exterior detail (roof rails etc) with the S4 style wheels. RNS-E and leather interior.

Want to get the cruise fitting and Dension Ipod link as main priorities.
