Audi A3 wont open with general remote button

My boot used to unlock along with the doors, when I pushed the "general unlock" button on my remote key fob. However, now I can only open it by holding down the "boot open" button - which not only unlocks the boot but actually opens it too.

I wouod appreciate any help on how to fix this problem? It is much handier for the boot to just unlock with the keyfob, ready to be opened manually, rather nthan actually opening every time you push the "boot open" button.
