Boot will not lock

Hi all,

when I use my key fob to lock my Mk 4 Golf GTI everything locks except for the boot. When I leave the boot open and press the lock I can't hear the locking mechanism working.

I suspect that either an electrical connection has become detached or the whole boot lock is broken. Does anyone know if I could fix this myself or do I need to take to VW?

this happened to my Mk 4, all i needed to do was take the plastic cover off the inside of the boot, and a bolt which held the locking mechanism had come off, simply replaced it and was a quick fix.
