4motion golf

Hi just wondering if some can help me, i bought a 4motion golf a few months back and everything have been fine, but last night a light on my dashboard came up which i've never seen before, its a circul with a triangel in it does anyone know what this means?

Welcome to the forum.

I had one come on in my car and the 1st place i looked was the handbook. It told me everything i needed to know.

That is if you have the handbook.

I hope the symbol isn't 4 motion specific.

I'm sorry, my hand book does not cover that light. it maybe specific to the 4 motion, i'm assuming it is a mk4 4motion.

Does it look like the hand brake light ?

yeah thanks its was, had to take it for someone to have a look and it turnes out the something had gone on the brake paddle which they have now fixed.

so i'm hoping that will be the last of it:Blush2:

Hi, I just wanted to add something. The handbrake light should be a circle with an exclamation mark inside. What you described, according to my handbook was the light for the traction control system (tcs)/electronic stability program (esp). The only reason I know this is because I recently got a V5 and the salesdude told me what it was.

yeh i would agree traction control light has a circle with triangle in middle coloured yellow. Comes on when traction control is turned off.

when the system is off the light is on, there must be something wrong with your ESP

The ESP is automatically turned on when you turn on the car. When you push the ESP button it turns the ESP off, and displays the sign on the dash.
