1999 golf 1.6 burning oil

Hi guys
newbie

I have just brought an 1999 1.6 SE 8 valve .

The thing is it went for its mot today while it was in the shop it just started to smoke badly after about half an hour of idleing .it was ok on the way to the mot ,and the evening before i have used a Wynn's engine flush and changed the oil and filter .
this never helped at all it seems that when its cold its OK but as soon as it get anywhere near temperature it starts to smoke

Hi guys

Finally sorted the smoking problem myself and my dad tripped the head of checked the valve guide and seals all seemed good but changed the seals any way .dropped the sump removed the removed the pistons ,first thing we found was number one piston compression ring was in line with the scrapper ring which in turn stuck the oil ring good result.we changed the rings and honed the bores .It started straight of the button and finally the blue smoke stopped after about 30 minutes a very happy bunny .
