I have been looking around at used 2003 - 2004 Audi S4 with about 50,000 to 60,000 miles on the clock. They seam to range between 10k to 14k but i'm worried about running costs. Mainly servicing and parts like the clutch. Does anyone own an S4 with similar mileage?

I've got an S4 with 36k on an 05 and they are tremendous cars. Mine is auto with paddleshift (plenty of time in traffic) but i think most things on them are pretty bombproof. chain driven so no belt replacement issues etc. Dont think 60k is a problem on them. Take a look on RS246.com they have a section just for S4's and it is full of info.

That is good news, some very good points on RS246.com will have to do some more research on there. I have also heard that the heavy front engine increases tyre wear at the front and replacement tyres will be needed every 6000 - 8000 miles and rear tyres cannot be more than 3mm difference because of the Quattro System. Is the fuel consumption as bad as people make out? I would be happy with 250 - 300 miles from a tank.

Yes, thats not bad. I think I want the saloon though, not sure it's the right weather for a convertible yet. I would like lower mileage and a manual as pre 2006 DSG boxes have some expensive problems from forum feed back about them.
