Are there any A4s in standard trim

I have just ordered a standardtrim TDIe, but I think I might end up being the only person with one! Autotrader and Audi don't have any - all SEs and S-Lines etc. Will anyone else admit to having one!? :confused:

Didn't James May have an article on how impossible it is to buy a bog standard car, a vehicle that exists in theory but not in practise?

If there is one thing about German manufacturers I don't like (but get sucked in) it is the optional extras.

I think the Jag XF is one of the few prestige models on the market that is ordered in a given trim spec - a bit like old Fords - L, GL, Ghia etc.

Not saying your car is bereft of extras of course - just don't tick too many boxes!!

Just noticed - what was wrong with the 2009 S-Line?

Due to their pricing it's often not worth going for the basic car when the next one up is often of more value.

Same thing with the option packs.

i.e. Order B&O and DAB and it's cheaper than just B&O :confused:

I didn't get much choice unfortunately. I had an SE spec'd demo for a weekend back in November, which was on my list, then Audi put their prices up in December. Now I can only have standard trim, although I have added cruise to my order which takes me up to my limit.

I think the increase was purely VAT related :(

I guess it's a company car?

Sometimes it's a shame they can't see beyond a hard budget as the cost of ownership due to increased resale value is probably better on an SE.

Either way it's a great car and you still get lots of goodies. :beerchug:

I saw a standard trim B8 in the Eastleigh Holiday Inn car park a couple of weeks ago. Looks fine to me, the only thing that gave it away was the basic alloys and lack of silver trim around the windows. To tell you the truth, wouldn't have noticed bar the fact I have been studying the A4 brochure the past few weeks.
