1998 110 gtitdi golf AHF would this have a tandem pump if so where do i find it, On cold starts the car takes a while (10-15 seconds) to fire up, After the first start in the morning its fine all day though, it also on first start only, idles a tad rough a quick blip of the throttle and it seems to clear. I have changed the coolant temp sensor and cleaned the egr valve, Its also had a genuine new maf sensor im lost as to what to do next which is why i ask about the tandem pump. Thanks for any help. ITS ALSO HAD A CODE READ AND NOTHING.

The AHF does not have a tandem pump,you need to check the glow plugs,and the fuel return hoses on each injector

the rough ideal on start up will just be the hydraulic tappets filling up with oil

Fit new glow plugs.

Try letting the glow plugs heat up 1st, in the cold weather wait for the glowplug light to turn off, before attempting to start. I haver the same AHF vehicle, and Id forgotton to have to let the plugs heat up, up until that really cold spell!!!! wondered why it wouldnt start very well, but is fine if plugs heat up..

This problem is all sorted new glow plugs as said above and its spot on thanks very much.
