Hello All,
I have tried a DVD navigation retrofit and looks like either the DVD Navi unit or the DVD itself is faulty.
Got this unit off EBay. It is European and I am in australia, wondering if the firmware need to be updated or downgraded as required. I am using the 2007 Maps DVD.

I have posted this on a few forums hoping sombody will have a solution for this.

Did a complete scan and found this error.
Can anybody here please tell me where the fault lies? Is it the DVD drive, firmware or the DVD itself?
Thanks a lot in advance

Try a known good disc, that will tell you if the disc is faulty.
Lasers are known to fail, thay are available to replace...

Hi Kite,
Thank you for your reply.

I have tried two different DVDs that work in another car.
Ive also tried a European maps DVD, with the same error "Please check Navigation DVD".

I did a measured test using the VAG-Com, with the following result, though I dont know what the value "7.0 DVD-Status" means.

Have a read of this thread

http://audiforum.us/mmi/4213-audi-q7-mmi-displays-please-check-navigation-dvd.html

It's a Q7 and the OP appears to have a similar issue (which points to coding and regions)

Edit: I presume from your username you too have a Q7, hence the link :D

Thank you Sam,

I have read this thread, and posted there asking the user, how the issue was resolved. But the admin asked to start a new thread as the post was two years old.

I have tried the recoding though, but as Im a newbie to VAG Com, dont know what the error codes mean?, that the reason I am posting these in a few Audi forums hoping someone will have an answer.

Yes it is a Q7.

Barry
