Acceleration 3.0 Cab

Hello there.

I have a 2003 3.0 Cabriolet and I'm experiencing something strange with the acceleration.

When I press the accellerator the engine spins up nicely and it accelerates but when I pull off the peddle it accelerated faster...

I did a few experiments and it seems as it has an acceleration sweet spot when the peddle is pressed about 1/4 of the way down, when I plant the peddle the acceleration is not as fast...

I;ve not had the car long so it might be me... not sure. It's just had a big service btw.

Anyone experience this?

It is strange but I would not worry - my car has a similar thing, mainly in 3rd gear upwards where if i'm excellerating hard and lift slightly but keep the peddle pressed a bit the car moves quicker! Weird but think of it this way - you've found some more power!!

Thanks Jiggy - Not worried but it is a little annoying, but I'm sure it Backfired the other day too of which I've heard that the coil packs can cause this.

Could anyone shed any more light on this? - I have been looking at some other threads that seem to fit with my problem and they say it could be the MAF needs cleaning.

Has anyone cleaned their MAF?
