Hello All,

Does anyone know what's wrong with my car - Audi A4 '99 - when i turn the heating on, i can hear a strange warbling sound (gradually got worse and i can hear it most of time now - although when i turn fan down this evening it did seem to reduce/stop the noise). Also heating car has experienced problems working in cold weather and also car's external warning lights came flashing away like it was having a disco on 3 times over last month or so, which occured on the same days the heating didn't work properly. Any ideas? I tried looking up the problem on the net but nothing come up..... Thanks (could it be the blower motor or water in system (not sure why - may be snow related or both?) and what is likely cost at garage of sorting it out?

I did have a new fan belt put in a couple of months back - just in case this is related or anything was knocked when it was fitted...

Kind Regards
Sue x

It could be a bearing worn on the blower motor,or debris being drawn into the motor if the Pollen filter is missing. The temperature problem could be a thermostat sticking open if not reaching 90 degrees.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for that - just like to have some knowledge before taking it into garage (never know if /when they may try and rip you off!).

Cheers
