Replacement Steering Rack Golf V

My Golf 57 plate tsi just had a complete steering rack under warranty after 13k miles . Anyone else had this problem the dealer seemed to imply it was a problem . Are there others things i need to watch for

What was the nature of the fault?

They never said at the dealer, there was a loud creaking noise on one lock. The whole rack was replaced

had the steering rack replaced on my 58 plate Golf today after reporting a loud "hum" on full left hand lock but the sound is still there.
The dealer thinks it might now be a wheel bearing. :confused:

Does anyone actually know what goes wrong with the mk5 steering racks to cause the creaking sound when applying left hand lock ???????
