Hi, my first post so here goes; I have owned an Audi A4 B5 Avant 2.8 Quattro since August last year and so far it has been a mixed experience. First impressions were great but as time went on faults started to appear on a regular basis. That where this site comes in....lots of answers and an alarming amount of common problems that Audi's have. (I though Audi's were well built?)

Lately the Car has proved itself to a higher level, it loves the Snow :biglaugh:
I did not think the Quattro system would work as well as it does, up hill on closed roads no problem. Stop start on steep hills, no problem.

In short if I was looking to buy another Audi in the future I would only be looking for one with a Quattro badge!! :beerchug:

Nice one? Any pics of the hills in question? I had some chains on my A4 to allow it to go up some steep stuff.

Sorry no pictures, the road was not passable by two wheel drive cars as one poor chap slid backwards passed me and gave up. I got home in time for dinner!!

Yeah they're pretty good. On my estate my B5 1.8 T Q was the only car that was moving for a whole week, oh how I laughed at the spinning/static BMW's......marvellous!

A lot of it has to do with tyres and driving ability , we attended a stuck bus in a snow drift just after the Christmas , trundled up with a fwd transit van, a traffic v8 disco and local stations X trail.
Got the bus dug out and moving only to stand there wetting ourselves at a clown in a diesel Q7 sitting in the middle of the road spinning all four wheels in first and only succeeding in digging himself in deeper.
We eventually educated him as to how to get the thing moving only to find him stuck in a hedge a few miles down the road because it never occured to him that having four wheel drive and abs does not help you get round corners when you are travelling 20 mph too fast for the road conditions and 45 mph faster than your own obvious meagre driving abilities.
