**As i cant post in the general chat section just yet (post count not quite 100) I thought i'd put this here.

I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to both Kenney and Crasher from this forum.

I've had lots of trouble with my car and both of them stuck with me (for 13 pages! :aargh4: they kept offering me advice :D and last night i managed to fix my car,

its taken about two months of remote diagnosing but Both Crasher and Kenney really know they're stuff, Plus we got there in the end. :biglaugh: .. I'd just about thrown the towel in and because Crasher had really impressed me with his knowledge and genuine interest to help me i'd had booked it in with him at C&R. I think next time i'll just take it straight to him ! not having a car for two months wasnt fun !

So the problem:

Poor cold start and refusal to start when hot

The fix:

I got a second hand Crank and Cam sensor and swapped them over

I'm going to post up a shortened version of my problem so it can hopefully help other members.

But once a again,

You've both been real stars and thank you for all the advice and tips you gave me :)

Thank you for the words of praise, but at the end of the day,you solved the problem yourself.I must admit, with the symptoms,i couldn't imagine the fault could be one of those sensors, which in turn goes to show, you learn something every day.Only one problem, though, done Crasher out of a job:D

I was nudged by a bloke on TDIClub to try the crank sensor, i had considered it before, but had my concentration was on other things.

It was a very odd fault though ! . but without you and crasher i wouldnt have eliminated other ideas, like 109 relay and starter motor or learnt how to change the injectors ! ...at least i've now got a good set of second hand ones.

Im sure crasher won't mind being out this job, as it was a real headache.

For the record i would have gladly taken it to Kenney also, but seeing as though he's in Norway, its abit of a Trek !
