I have just bought an A4 TDi 1896 cc 59,000 miles (04 plate) how can i tell if it has a PD engine or not? what mpg can i expect from the car?

think it will be M8 my autodata is only listing the pd for that year

Welcome to the forum.
It's defo PD, as far as I know, they didn't use the old rotary engines in B6 models. If it's 2WD, you'll prob get 45-50mpg, quattro will get 38-45 (in my experience with the latter). You can find the engine code on the sticker on the front page of the service book & post it up here and I'll search my head for the bhp of the engine, but it'll be 100, 115 or 130bhp.

the ad has been taken off autotrader as i bought the car looks like i will have to wait until monday/tuesday to find out :drive::drive:

All the 1,9tdis in the B6 are PD. Common Rail was only introduced to the B7 in 2007 with the newer 2,0tdi engines.
