Hi Audi Fans
I'm considering changing the rear light cluster to the modern look LED.
Anyone done this? Are there any issues? Heard mention of the need to fit resistors ! Is this correct and if so any ideas on how to would be grateful.

I Swapped to LED's a couple of years back on my S6..

They worked like a charm with no need for resistors etc.
I think if you buy a complete rear cluster set, they put a reasonable amount of thought into the electronics and probably add a resistor into the circuit as part of the design.
If you decided to just buy LED replacements for your indicators (and no other lights) you'd probably get the quick-flashing problem and need to fit a resistor (because the ECU detects a lower resistance than a filament bulb produces, so it thinks a bulb has blown).
In short: I haven't bought a pair of the B6 A4 LED clusters that you are lokking at, but I imagine they will work straight out of the box with no issues. Assusming they are for sale on eBay - take a look at what feedback the seller is getting for them.

Excellent thanks, nice car btw
Cheers.. it's long-gone, thank god!!
You need deep pockets to feed a V8 and a botmless pit of money to keep it in parts & correctly serviced! It converted me from a petrol head into a diesel geek!
I hope someone who has already bought the LED lamps can give you a definitive answer.

Nice looked at the temp at +16.5, better than the freezing temps at the moment!
