Hi all,

Just (well earlier this year) brought a '52 A6 Avant 2.5tdi and thought i'd get into the social side as well as the expensive bit!

We sold a German sports car to fun the purchase (20 month old daughter to cart about, that sort of thing:( ) so I wanted something that was a bit out of the ordinary and with more cylinders than the norm, hence the V6. So far, love it to bits, the way it goes, stops and handles (both the bends and all the carp that we carry about) and most of all, the fact that I have gone from servicing twice a year and 20mpg to servicing once a year (if that) and low 40mpg over a tank (alot of which is round town) and whilst still "pressing on":biglaugh: ! I have a feeling something may be amiss with the MAF (or something else) but thats another thread.

Thats all for now....

Glad to hear you came over to VAG for your next car ;) i havent regretted it either, i had a fiat brava last, endless servicing, repair bills and i averaged around 30mpg out of the 1.2 16v lol

as for your MAF, try a search before posting a new thread, there is masses of information on this forum, in particular one thread which can be found here :

hope this is of some help to you, the MAF is a very common fault.

Cheers all,

Carl - Blimey that was some going, nothing to do with a lead foot by chance? I used to have a honda that drank like that! Then again it was a VTI and the revs were addictive. In full touring car mode, I could use a third of a tank going from leamington to tamworth (were the other half lived at the time), a distance of abut 35 miles! I was only trying to prove the Honda theory that they never had a failure from a properly maintained VTI engine, ever. Shame the same cant be said for the F1 team....

Thanks for the heads up on the MAF question, i'll post my suspisions elsewhere.
